I had an aunt like this. Everyone talked behind her back about how awful she was to me. For reasons we never do find out. But everyone, including my own mother, who was her sister, never stood up for me. My grandmother, her mother finally did. But it didn’t do any good. I can tell you does this day. It still bothers me why nobody ever stood up for me and why she was so nasty to me. It makes me feel less. Don’t ever let anybody do this to you even if it means that you can never be in the same room with them. Nobody deserves this.

Marie :
Absolutely not. If you agree to “forget and forgive” it will send her the message she can get away with this behavior. Stand your ground. Calmly explain your position ONCE and establish your boundaries. The family enables her.

What Is wrong with people and their passiveness?? the way I would’ve handed my baby to someone else and clocked her! that way any other gathering wouldn’t have been a problem because that woman would know where she stood with me and I would continue to show her if she stepped out of line

There are three sides to every story. Even if this is 100% the way it happened she can’t make someone else go and see a therapist. You can only control yourself. If you don’t wanna go and she is there -you don’t go.

Absolutely TF not! Protect your peace, safety, and sanity. Your family is allowing this behavior. You're a mom now and you need to protect your child.
