they deleted this because of some california law makes the minimal amount of anonymized usage information firefox sends to mozilla constitute as "collecting and selling user data", so they legally cannot say that they dont collect and sell data

If you actually read into this, it's because of how laws and regulations are written in the state of California. They consider many benign things to be "personal data" and Firefox was required to change their legal wording. It's really not a big deal.

There’s like no browser alternative that isn’t chromium or Firefox based. At the very least you’ll have a gecko based open source- the issue being these companies can absolutely compromise their own code.
