Jack Halie (the tin man we see in the movie) the powder didn't coat his lungs because his makeup was made of allium paste, not power like Buddy Epstine's makeup (the man they originally cast) Jack never got "sick" because of the make up the only thing that happened was he got some of the paint in his eye and got an infection
