@psychotic.in.seattle: Life update: is it time to be worried? I’m gonna do something about this before it keeps getting worse. #psychosis #psychosisawareness #schizophrenia #schizoaffective #mentalhealthadvocate
I relate to this about my own chronic illnesses - it's easy to delay and downplay, especially when you're not sure what help you're realistically going to get. And then there's the bother of actually getting help and having to change/manage one MORE thing. BUT! If you told yourself before you'd go in if things got worse, it can be nice to honor that commitment/relationship to self and go. You can always decide to delay whatever change is offered, but at least you'll be spending that time knowing your options

You should be able to access care on a regular basis, no matter how intense your symptoms are. by getting care, you ensure your health. if you ignore it, you run the risk of not being able to act instrumentally once things get worse!

I think getting a medication change sooner rather than later is the right move! Letting psychosis simmer has never panned out well for me 😬

psychosis is ABSOLUTELY an emergency! i know how it feels to be in the mindset that these things are 'normal' because we experience them so often with chronic mental illness. but no, you are not downpaying it. go to that appointment!
