Everyone tells you to build a routine. But nobody tells you how to build one that actually works. The secret? Use the divine routine Allāh already gave you. Here’s how I do mine: (P.s. adjust to your life circumstances) Fajr → Blessings & focus Missing Fajr leaves your brain cloudy all day. That mental fog costs you blessings and clear thinking. Instead: pray, practice gratitude, read Qur’ān & do focused work. Dhuhr → Midday reset Pushing through fatigue with caffeine only leads to crashes. I learned this the hard way. Instead: pray, take a 20 minute nap, workout & eat a high-protein lunch. ‘Asr → Momentum This is the time when distractions peak. Lose focus here & the rest of the day slips. Allāh even swears by this time in the Qur’ān. There is a wisdom behind oaths. Instead: pray, learn, hold meetings & do creative work. Maghrib → Wind-down Mindless scrolling at night leaves no closure for your day. Instead: pray, read your evening du‘ās, eat dinner & spend time with family. ‘Ishā → Reflection Late-night screens destroy your rest and ruin tomorrow’s productivity. Instead: pray, journal your thoughts, plan tomorrow & make du‘ā. When you start using prayer times as anchors to your day, it’s really hard to go wrong. Because even if you didn’t finish everything you planned after a prayer… you still feel accomplished. Why? Because you prayed. And that’s the baseline. No prayer → no success. Build your day around the 5 daily prayers… and watch how everything else aligns. Your energy. Your focus. Your discipline. Everything.
