Hello! OU student here. Just so everyone who isn’t affiliated with OU knows. The president email is NOT monitored by university staff or presidential staff. The email attached is STRICTLY used for email announcements to students and faculty. Please use the email: [email protected] it is the schools marketing and communications email which isn’t a nice as a direct line to the president but it is better than an unmonitored email line. They forced me — a disabled grad student — to drop out. I had legal accommodations and a provider’s note. They ignored both, capped my extensions to twice per class, then gave me F’s while I was on the exact medical leave my provider advised. They held my transcript and tried to charge me $5,200. I had to send a legal demand letter just to get that reversed. And when I filed an equity complaint earlier this year — about the ADRC interim director — they didn’t even investigate. I’m planning to file a pro se civil rights case next year

I’m an OU grad student in the sociology department. We all get assignment submissions like this nearly every semester. We cant pass the assignments because they are often just rants that don’t relate to the prompt. If this becomes a precedent, all grad students who mention the word “gender” in their lectures are risk.

I'm gonna be honest, the student should be expelled. they didn't use proper citations, therefore plagiarizing. they had a separate instructor grade it. the paper didn't address the article the paper was supposed to cover. she joined that class with the intent to harm that professor's livelihood. should she ever see this, she should read these passages.

I want some clarification,“ did not meet standard” automatically gives you a zero out of 25 or whatever that assignment was worth. There’s a failing grade and there’s a not doing an assignment.

I titled this: Regarding Ms.Mel Curth’s Suspension. The suspension of Professor Mel Curth is absolutely outrageous. Not only did she grade Samantha Fullnecky’s paper correctly, but she also gave constructive criticism, a very appropriate response to such childish behavior. Evidence to suggest that Mel Curth’s grading was accurate and fair is obvious upon a simple skim of the essay. In addition to comment sense, a second professor agreed with the paper's assessment. This is not about personal opinions, this is about academic standards. End Ms.Curth’s suspension and let Samantha take accountability for her poor ethics.

Done, emails sent. I'm from Oklahoma with a psych b.a. and have greatly considered OU for my graduate degree. I included that in my emails. I will not attend any university who fails to uphold academic integrity due to political pressure.
