@nickiunplugged: Every MOM I know is drowning to some degree and I’m wondering does it feel this way in other countries or is this just our family system here in America? And yes, I threw in the word single because I am feeling completely and utterly alone in this and also embarrassed most times that I don’t have my shit together in some way, shape or form. The math isn’t mathing … Working Moms: how are we doing??? I’ll go first: unhinged but high-functioning 🤪🤪🤪 #singlemom #singlemomlife #workingmom #schooldays #singleparent
I go to bed every night and think “I can’t keep doing this” and then I wake up every day and keep doing it because I don’t have any other choice. I’m broke, I’m tired, I’m stressed but my daughter would never know.

Honestly? We don’t do sports.🤷🏻♀️do I feel guilty about it? Yes but I can’t afford it financially and my sanity would be gone. The kids get to school at 7am, I work all day and then pick them up at 5. We go home and do dinner, homework and showers and it’s still exhausting. I cannot imagine putting sports into the mix

Because the US is run by the patriarchy. People say to me “I don’t know how you do it all.” I respond “I don’t. Some things just don’t get done.”

I have my son 85% of the time (his dad lives 3 hours away) and I need to have a business in order to do drop offs and pickups, which are over 20 minutes from home - Which means driving 20 minutes to the bus, 20 minutes home to work for 6 hours, driving 20 minutes in for pickup, and 20 minutes home. We eat supper quick, clean the kitchen and then we have Tarkwondo 3X per week, so another 20 minutes to town for TKD, and 20 minutes home. 🥴🥴🥴🥴

And every teacher on this app is going to tell you “parents (i.e. mothers lbfr) are failing these kids!!” Like let’s zoom out and see how every societal structure is broken and the glue right now is women. And this glue can’t hold everything forever.

I’m mentally and emotionally on empty. Got Divorced then he got cancer and passed. I do it all. I quit my toxic job in order to help regulate my nervous system and give my kids and home more attention. I’m doing awesome ( keeping everything going) but I have no support to fill my cup. It’s a lot! Our country’s lack of support and resources for moms is exhausting

Listen, I have a unique situation here I’m married, but my husband and I have separate accounts and he does not pay for anything for my children and before anybody comes to my comments yes I know this is toxic. Yes I know I need to get out of this marriage yes I’m trying. He does not take the kids to the doctor. He doesn’t go to parent teacher conference. He doesn’t take them to gymnastics or karate or anything like that he doesn’t participate in elf on the shelf he goes to work. He pays the household bills and he thinks that’s all he needs to doso I might as well be single.

Im so glad you noticed. I think if we solved issues that single parents are facing it would only benefit married couples. Workplace to schools to social circles it would all get better if single parents were advocated for

I felt like I got it all wrong as a single mom. But they’re all grown now and they don’t remember it the way I do. They think I was an excellent mom. I thought I completely fumbled the damn ball. As adults I’m the one they spend time with the most - they rarely choose to see their dad, I must have done something right…it’s all a blur I was in survival mode.
