Librela may be safe for most pets but it is not safe for all & I just hope & pray the risks are discussed more ahead of time now because we were all told there were basically zero side effects. Rooney isn't even included those 3,600 because I never even reported his case. (I will be now tho). I heard another vet say Librela should be used as a LAST resort & should NEVER be given to pets w/ neurological issues. & pets experiencing ANY negative side effects deserve to be taken seriously & seen immediately. It breaks my heart to remember just a couple months ago, i walked out of the vet office in tears after I expressed my concerns & explained Rooney was only getting worse after starting the injections. That day, they didn't have time to talk to me about these concerns or even look at my dog but they had the time to administer his 3rd shot. 😣 (We have since found a new vet & stopped that med). I'm just grateful my boy is still here because sadly for thousands of others who also experienced similar side effects - that wasn't the case & their babies are gone now. How it feels watching your dog grow old. 🥺 Some of you asked for a Rooney update & that makes me so happy knowing he is so loved. Since my last update, we’ve been to the vet 3 more x to have his ear drained but he is doing okay… he has his good days but this is a glimpse at some of his harder days over the past few months. Good news is, his issues aren’t anything extremely serious & we love the vet we’ve been going to & know he’s in good hands. We’ve been able to make it 2 weeks now in between the last couple vet visits but his hematoma keeps coming back & i’m calling tom. to get the surgery scheduled… which is just scary in general for his age. (10.5) But he’s been a trooper through it all & we are enjoying every second we have together. ❤️‍🩹🐕 ps.
