People love to say my generation doesn’t understand love — that relationships were stronger ‘back then’. But what they forget is that a lot of women weren’t staying out of love, they were staying because they had no choice. Financially trapped, socially pressured, expected to endure instead of live. Today women can earn our own money, choose our own lives, and walk away from what hurts us — and suddenly it’s called a ‘male loneliness epidemic’. Maybe relationships aren’t weaker now. Maybe women just finally have the freedom to choose, instead of the obligation to stay. People think it was better before, but it’s better now. Not because love disappeared, but because women finally have a choice.

the best example I know is my mom... my dad cheated on her multiple times and she never left him... he is a good dad in his way and also shows some love to my mom but cheating is not an excuse when there are hard times in the family... even tho I love my mom she is the strongest woman I ever known.

Maybe in the us, in the rest of the western world; women have been in the workforce for 50+ years. Parents and grandparents still stayed together.

It's very true. But also the majority of women create strong relationships outside of romantic relationships, so even if we don't have partners we aren't lonely. I'm not sure men do that as much. That should be encouraged more.
