IMO Tuna and Yellowtail are far superior when raw. Just something about salmon texture while raw bugs me

I think this is why hunting/fishing is important. So many people don’t know/respect where our food comes from. Grocery stores have desensitized us quite a bit it makes me sad

Salmon are full of parasites, they should've fillet & frozen them first. Either that or salt cured & aged them. I could definitely see why you might've gotten sick of it.

This always seemed like a bad idea to me. Why would I only want ONE of my least favorite fishes at omakase? Give me sea bream, give me yellowtail, even give me tuna!

I got a smoked salmon bagel one time and I took a bite and a tape worm started wiggling out of it. also used to work at a fish market and filleted tons of salmon that we’re supposedly flash frozen but they always had parasites.

lol endless salmon is crazy. Ive been to regular omakase with 15 different fish but salmon!! Wow weeeeee. Did they sear any with a torch at least?? I love when they bring the torch out

Big restaurants like this - the whole salmon is deep frozen the moment it comes out of the water from their supplier for 7 days (kills all parasites).
