The amount of people not grasping that this isn't a race thing is pretty amazing. They thought he was military as he was dressed as an American, spoke English, and was hanging out at a spot that Soldiers probably regularly visit. It was still wrong, but it wasn't don't because he was black, it was done because they thought he was in the military.
