I think Pakicetus, the land dwelling ancestor of modern whales would be more wolf-like than deer, but yeah, it's so cool that we know that now. It seemed like a wild idea when Darwin first suggested how whales could have evolved from a land mammal (which he thought would be bear-like) as an illustration of how evolution would work, but it turned out he was right!
