Yes! I've been saying this. Also, matriarchal societies are community centered, not child centered. The children are part of the society, which is how they are cared for. And gender roles are not hierarchical or rigid.

💯 Yes. Also, I remember a time when it was more common for other people in the community (not caregivers) to give verbal correction and instruction to children, too. Many parents now seem to take extra ownership of “their own” children and won’t leave room for social conditioning/societal reinforcement of good behavior. Just another thing that a healthy community can discuss and take action on together. Cooperation is key.

Like, I don't want to give birth, ever...but anytime I'm around a child, that child is my #1 priority. Even if their parents are around. I remember being a child, and no one giving a shit about me, and I will never let a child go through that on my watch.

yep this is what I experienced with my children's godmother's family. her brothers and mother helped with my kids. I was a single mom and we all helped each other one brother didn't have children at all.

I am one of the people that has chosen to not reproduce however that does not negate my consideration concern and protection over those that are children especially if they're mentally children there are degrees to perception regarding the innocent even if we do not want to participate in the creation of them in the current reality that we have been experiencing
