![📖 Onyx Storm (Spoiler Free) ⤵️⤵️ [This review does not contain plot spoilers, but does have my reactions to the book, ratings, and content considerations]. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ [For Vibes] Book Review: This book overall met and exceeded my expectations. The writing style is still in keeping with the previous books. It’s not my favorite style, to say the least, but I’ve accepted it for what it is, so I’m not really factoring that into my rating. Onyx Storm made huge strides in world-building and character development. I felt more connected to the characters than I did in Fourth Wing or Iron Flame. Violet really came into her own in this book, and even Xaden started to show a glimmer of personality. Also, the banter between all the characters was so much fun! Overall, Onyx Storm felt like higher fantasy, with heavier themes and a romance subplot (which is my personal preference). I had so much fun reading it, and it had an excellent cliffhanger ending that will leave you with so many questions. By the end of Onyx Storm, I was grieving having to leave the world and characters behind, and was book hungover for days. So I’d say it definitely did its job! Still thinking about it 😱🫠. Onyx Storm is the third book in the Empyrean series by Rebecca Yarros.
