It's simple, Satoru Gojo had let his guard down, believing Sukuna was defeated. Sukuna had made a quick Binding Vow to allow him to use the World Cutting Dismantle once without any incantations in exchange every other usage would require the Hetan hand sign and the three chants in order to successfully use it. Due to Gojo being off-guard, he wasn't expecting to be hit by something that could pass through Infinity, so he was essentially "perception blitzed" for lack of a better term.

Sukuna used a binding vow for the WCS to pretty much spawn on Gojo, in exchange he couldn’t do it again unless he chanted, held up a hand sign with 2 hands and used a 3rd hand at the same time to point where he wanted it to go. Which would be impossible for everyone except for Sukuna

Same cause how six eyes didn’t see it when gege just let Sukuna read gojos red because of the “spark” before a technique is released? Not only is that dumb but Sukuna even being able to copy a move that complicated is stupid in general when mahoraga needed to adapt 2 times to even learn it

the story LITERALLY tells u. Sukuna made a BV: in exchange for the Gojo WCS having instant activation, every other WCS after that needed a chant + handsigns to direct it
