I genuinely do not understand why society has become so obsessed with punishment instead of simply moving on.
Yes, betrayal hurts.Yes, cheating is wrong.But the level of spite people encourage now is honestly unhealthy.
We are fully capable of leaving situations, healing, setting boundaries, and rebuilding our lives without needing to destroy someone in the process.
Not every painful experience needs revenge attached to it.
At some point we have to ask ourselves:are we actually healing…or are we becoming consumed by resentment and control?
Holding people accountable and becoming consumed by punishment are not the same thing.
Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is simply:learn the lesson, protect your peace, and move forward with your life.
