When you’re in Texas, everyone knows that the west begins after Fort Worth (going west). It’s crazy because places in East Texas, which are only like 2 hours from Dallas, are SO lush and beautiful. But if you go 2 hours west of Dallas, it’s a desert that’s dry and sandy.

You can see it when you drive the 8+ hours from one side of Texas to the other. The brush and trees get shorter and more sparse. Then the cacti and horizon get pointier. Here’s a picture of the dust covering the sun driving through west Texas. It was crazy to see!

I have been saying this for yrs that tornado alley has been shifting. I live in oklahoma and have been watching it with flooding, dry spells, change of the seasons. all of it has been changing over the last 10 yrs.

In Canada farming west of the 100th meridian is much more viable. In saskatchewan and alberta we have black soil, and snow/ice that doesnt melt until start of may that keeps the land ultra fertile.
