its wrong and here why, Voyager 1 isn't 18 light-years away from Earth—it's about 25 billion kilometers away, which sounds huge, but light can travel that distance in only about 23 hours. Since light takes time to travel, if Voyager 1 had a camera powerful enough to zoom in on Earth, it would see Earth as it was roughly 23 hours ago, not in 2016. To see Earth in 2016, an observer would need to be about 10 light-years away because the light from Earth in 2016 would take about 10 years to reach them. The farther away you are, the further into Earth's past you see, but Voyager 1 is still much closer than a light-year away.

If it's 18 light hours away why would it be 2016? Wouldn't it be 18 hours ago?
