MidJourney’s New Video Generator – Hit or Hype? I ran a real-world test using client work. Here’s what I found. The output is 480p at 24 frames per second, and it keeps that classic MidJourney style: dreamy, painterly, and stylized. If you’re expecting photorealism or cinematic storytelling like what you’d get from Runway Gen-2 or Google’s Veo, this isn’t that. But for visual art and concept design, it’s got a vibe. Yes, you can prompt it either use MidJourney’s auto-motion or write your own with the –motion flags. You’ve also got the option to run it in raw mode for more control over how the animation plays out. And no, it’s not free. But you can access the video tool on the $10/month Basic plan. Video generations use about 8x the GPU credits of an image, but you’ll still be able to create several animations before your credits run out. It’s not unlimited, but it’s definitely usable. Compared to other platforms like Runway, Pika Labs, and Leonardo (which now integrates Google Veo 3), MidJourney’s version is more limited no timeline editor, no multi-shot scenes, no keyframe control. But it’s still a welcome step forward for fans of the platform and for anyone looking to bring their art to life without switching tools. So what do you think?
