If you’re looking for some handy apps to use in Japan, here are some of the best ones I’ve used. Let’s start with a disclaimer, you don’t need all these apps to travel Japan comfortably. However, we all like a bit of technological helps every now and again, and these apps can be very useful. My top suggestions for APPS you must have are: 1. Google Maps: If you’re going to use one app in Japan, it should be Google Maps. Not only is it great for helping to plan your trip, it can also give you detailed help on using the train, bus or subway. 2. Google Translate: Travelling while not knowing the language can seem daunting. Google translate also has a camera feature, allowing you to scan signs or menus and get real-time translation. 3. SUICA: This card is essential to use public transport in Japan. This card can also be used for vending machines, and shopping. (NOTE: Japanese transport cards cannot be added to wallet on non-Japanese androids). —— Honorable Mentions: • MyMizu: this app shows you where to refill your water bottle for free. • USJ & Tokyo Disney Resort App: includes a map of the park, and accurate waiting times for rides. • Nerve: Since earthquakes are common in Japan, the NERVE app can help you prepare in case anything happens during your trip (includes earthquakes, typhoons and floods). • Tabelog: A popular app for finding restaurants and reviews. —— Happy Travels! 🇯🇵✈️ #traveljapan #explorejapan #discoverjapan #traveltiktok #traveltips #japanappstore
