I believe that the importance of each aspect in the survey would change as a tech develops. Documentation should be learned as skills develop, I wouldn’t hammer down on it in the first stages.

I learned on the job, six years later, I've done semis, dump trucks, heavy equipment, and now a dealership doing hybrids. long way from starting at a junkyard

I work in the industry but don’t do the type of work I do at home. If I was a mechanic every day I’d grow to hate it and I know that. I’m a Service advisor.

Can definitely tell you’ve done you prioritized your training. For doing this for 10 years, you’re insanely knowledgeable. I’ve been in the industry for 18 years, but I’ve been on the independent side of the industry versus specializing in a particular brand.

I was saying I don't get dirty wearing the pants and shirts provide by the dealerships They will naturally give me the newer cars and trucks early morning for service There's no greasy steering 🤭

college auto adjunct here. starting at lube is common. employers want to make sure they show up and aren't high. understandable to me

I did ASEP. Sponsoring dealer kept me thru school, no open bays when I was done. My next job started me as a lube tech while I proved my worth. Wasn’t long b4 I was doing normal work in my own bay.
