(Full Recipe Below!) Happy Monday, my friends! We're in the midst of soup season for sure. I hope you all are staying warm and safe. Tavern Chowder Ingredients: - 1 onion - 2 celery sticks - 3 potatoes - 4 strips of bacon - 8 oz baby bella mushrooms - 1 tbs minced garlic - 1/3 cup all purpose flour - 6 cups water - 2 tbs chicken bouillon - handful of shredded carrot - salt and pepper - 10oz can of corn - 1/2 cup of heavy cream Steps: 1. Cook chopped bacon in a large pot on medium high heat until crispy. 2. Remove bacon and sautee chopped onion, celery, and mushrooms in the remaining bacon fat until soft. 3. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute. 4. Add flour and cook for another 2 minutes until flour has incorporated into the veggies. 5. Add water, potatoes, carrots, chicken bouillon and season with salt and pepper. 6. Cook on medium high heat for 10-15 minutes or until potatoes are tender. 7. After potatoes are soft, add corn and heavy cream. Cook for another 5 minutes. 8. Garnish with bacon bits and serve.
