Yeah i thought I was being pranked when a new OB told me that I couldn’t find anyone to tie my tubes at 29 (even though I have 2 kids) cause I “might change my mind”

I was in getting my IUD changed a few years early and my Gyno brought tubes tied up! she asked me thoughts and feelings on birth control as a whole and we decided IUD was the best for now! very lucky!

Also, if you get a bisalp (remove your tubes), it has a lower risk of ectopic pregnancy than a tubal & significantly decreases your risk of ovarian cancer. I have zero regrets about my bisalp!

I tell everyone around me about the local doc on that list. She was actually my OB when I had my kid. If you’re in the Pittsburgh area area, I can’t recommend her enough!

I found my gynecologist from her list. When I told her I wanted a tubal ligation we talked about me and my body, not whether my husband cared or not.

The only reason why I was able to get a hysterectomy at 28 was because my then husband agreed to it. He had to sign off on me having a hysterectomy yes, I had a male doctor

I wish there had been a list like this when I was trying to get my tubes tied. I ended up going to Planned Parenthood because they were the only ones that didn’t question me back in the early 2000s
