@ancestralwhispersdotorg: Facial reconstruction of a 2,500-year-old Sarmatian Priestess ancestralwhispers.org The Filippovka kurgans are a complex of 29 kurgans located near the village of Filippovka in the Ileksky district of the Orenburg region, Russia. These kurgans belong to the Sarmatian culture and were created between the 5th and 4th centuries BC. Within this group, two kurgans are classified as "royal." This specific Sarmatian woman held the esteemed position of a priestess and was granted an exceptionally opulent burial. She was interred in a royal kurgan, and her resting place was adorned with numerous golden artifacts. These, along with other archaeological context and material remains, allowed us to reconstruct her clothing. The reconstruction was carried out in collaboration with anthropologist Alexey Nechvaloda for the exhibition "Treasures of the Sarmatian Chiefs".
