Any pilot that brags about "soloing in 10-15 hours" is someone I would not want flying me. That has ZERO to do with your ability and everything to do with poor training. I solo'd at 50 and that's around average.

People solo at different hours. It ultimately comes down to how your instructor feels about you flying, and if YOU feel safe flying alone. There's nothing wrong with waiting longer, but you have to solo at some point. It is odd that someone was checked out at 1,000 hours for a 737, but if he met the requirements and passed the checkride, he passed. The anxiety is higher in aviation, in my opinion, but it's a part of every job with big responsibilities. Communication builds trust and helps manage that. The lack of communication with some parts of the industry isn't new. It's an age old problem, like ATC facilities needing new equipment and more staff.
