The first time I truly realized how much little kids soak in was when while driving someone swerved into our lane, barely missing hitting us, and before I could respond my then 3 year old yelled from the backseat "Pick a lane, donkey!"

My 6yo asked my doctor "Did you hear that duck?" after she silently farted during my recent appointment. Her dad thought it was funny to start saying that after he farted so she started doing it too

Our 2½ yr old daughter was receiving speech therapy & could say 20 words. She overheard her FATHER drop the F 💣 while we were preparing to see HIS parents 3 states away & her 21st word was practiced every 5 miles 🤦♀️

Yes to the teacher comments. We hear EVERYTHING from home. But we hear the embellished version. My deal every year is that I won’t believe everything they tell me about home if parents promise not to believe everything they hear about school. lol.

I have teenagers and they are so funny and it often results in me looking at my husband and saying “I’m not sure if we are terrible parents or great parents” 🤷🏻♀️🤣 Time will tell but we will laugh the whole way there!

If it makes you feel better, when my son was 3, he used to tell everyone (literally everyone. Cashiers. The mail carrier. The next door neighbor.) his uncle’s favorite number was 69 because he overheard the last half of a joke his uncle was telling someone at a family event 🫠🫠🫠

When he was about 3, we took my son in a field trip to a wildlife conservancy. As we pulled up to the bear enclosure, he piped up with "What's this fucking place?" My husband was choking trying not to laugh out loud and I was trying to control my face while I told him that's a grownup word and not to say it. I immediately texted my sister, who was there too and she pulled up beside us laughing her as off
