@arisewithlemus: As a bisexual Latino who grew up low-income and comes from an immigrant background, my existence is inherently political. I may be a citizen, but I’m only here because of someone’s immigration story. My community is under attack, and while my identities are marginalized, my voice remains powerful, and I intend to use it. I’m grateful to have received my education and multiple degrees in this country. It’s given me a deeper understanding of the systemic issues shaping our society. These attacks we’re seeing aren’t random; they’re intentional and, sadly, nothing new. I recognize this not only through academic study but also through lived experience, having seen firsthand how these systems oppress people in my own communities. So here’s what I’m doing. I’m using my platform to help people get civically engaged and informed. I’ve had the privilege of being in spaces and positions that those before me could only dream of, and I don’t take that for granted. I’m committed to making a real difference, and I believe that together, we can drive true change.
