🚨JUST RESCUED- LOVERBOYS MOM!🚨 Yesterday, we rescued an emaciated pup named Loverboy, and today, after hours of persistence the last two days, we secured his mom! This beautiful girl was one of the four dogs that bolted when we tried to help yesterday. She was the only one who stuck around, keeping an eye on us, though clearly terrified of humans. Today, we crossed paths with a police officer who shared that he’s been trying to catch her for months. In fact, he recently secured her three other puppies, who look just like Loverboy, about a week ago. Now, all of her puppies are safe and secure—and so is she! Sora took us on quite the chase around the neighborhood. We could see she wanted to trust us but was too scared. She was this close to stepping into our trap so many times, even mastering the art of Superman-stretching over the plate to avoid triggering it. Finally, she couldn’t resist a burrito we slipped inside, and—success! After 4.5 hours of teamwork, Sora is safe. Our shelter is absolutely full, and we’re in urgent need of fosters to make space for dogs like Sora and her family. We will also be on the lookout for the other adult dogs she was seen with. Sora, meaning “bright sky,” has a collar but no tag or microchip, just a heart waiting to trust and a story of survival. They watched as she led them to an old, broken dog house tucked under the deck of a crumbling, abandoned house. With no collar, tag, or microchip, Quincy was alone in every sense. It was clear from her shy, timid nature that she’s known more harm than kindness—but thankfully, she trusted us enough to come with us, and we brought her to safety. This sweet girl has been through so much, and now she deserves a safe, warm space to welcome her puppies and care for them. Quincy is urgently in need of a foster home where she can give birth and stay for the next eight weeks while nursing.
