I don’t know what a vein finder is but once the hospital called in a specialty nurse and she measured my husbands arm (she may have been using an ultrasound or something) and marked the area and put an IV in the area where his bicep is.

It’s never worked for me either. I need to be able to palpate! 🤏

I use it for every patient. Once you use it every time, you learn how to use it and it helps with the thin old valve ridden patients. I’m the one they call when they can’t get an IV started.

I don’t like it. I been a phlebotomist for 10yrs and I can find the littlest veins without it. People be so surprised

As the child of two very difficult sticks, I’m so thankful for the vein finder!

I’m old school. I find my own in the 34 years on a pedi floor. Hate it also. Not helpful.

This was my comment. I have small veins, old guy, and nurse tried 4 times to get an IV in and resorted to this and bingo IV in. lol small sample size of 1, but that one was me
