We literally got a directive about how to deal with the shaving profiles but my unit decided to have everyone show up to the clinic this coming Monday and they have to shave 3 days before showing up. I understand they want to make sure the doctors can see how you skin reacts but this is NOT what the directive states. It’s the same thing with my previous unit when they send you to the field while you have an profile for your back or something like that but they still want you to carry that 80lbs ruck when you where told not to.

As a minority, the challenges are insurmountable and these policies? TARGETED at minorities. I’ve lived it, racism, microaggressions, the fight for change on military bases. One thing I won’t do? Let THEIR broken system for deemed "faddishes" interfere with my money or my benefits. Fight for change. If nothing changes and folks are tired, grab that DD214. THESE are OUTDATED and OLD standards for a reason. The goal is clear: FRUSTRATE MINORITIES OUT! Message received.
