I am so incredibly fortunate and grateful I have a solid job with amazing benefits, but I also want everyone to have access to affordable healthcare and quality care. I am happy to pay into welfare so other people have access to it. Why is it so hard to care about others?

Everyone benefits from Medicaid. Medicaid keeps the lights on in many hospitals, clinics, nursing home that people who have insurance rely on. Without it these places are going to have to find ways to cover that loss.

Just because he has insurance doesn’t mean he paid for healthcare all by himself. The way that health insurance works is that people without immediate healthcare needs pay for healthcare procedures of people who do need them. That’s the way insurance works. So other people are paying for the commenter’s healthcare.

Poor Gina doesn’t understand that other healthy people are paying their insurance premiums to fund her care. That’s how insurance works. Except the pool of people is smaller so it’s much more expensive.
