Some Republicans have so much cognitive dissonance. My mother's the same way. She's an incredibly kind, generous person. But then for some reason has voted Republican for the last 40 years of her life, because she wants the country to be "fiscally responsible". She believes in social programs like snap benefits and housing and drug programs supported by the federal government, but then she votes against all of that. Every single time. I don't understand. I really, truly do not understand.
