I watched my Dad do what you described for 10 hours. We were all there with our hands on him when that last inhalation happened. It was silent. No pain, no fear…just silence. The silence was so loud. What you did for that man and his wife is beyond words. I’m not a religious person but for a lack of a better word you are an angel. What a beautiful gift you provide. We are burying my Dad tomorrow.

My dad was passing away from pancreatic cancer. His body was holding on too long. We kept telling him that it was okay to go. Everything he needed to do was done. It was time. And his body kept fighting. It. He was doing the signal breathing for hours. At 9:10 we finally dimmed the lights, lit candles, and I put on the theme song to A River Runs Through It. One of his fave movies and the song that I walked down the aisle with him to. He almost immediately took his last few breaths and slipped away. I like to imagine that the music is what allowed him to give in. 😭 It was heartbreaking and the song breaks me in a way I never thought it would. But it’s amazing what music can do for us.

I have to say in 15 years of healthcare, you describe the final moments and actions of the body BEAUTIFULLY. What a true blessing you give to people in their journey of death. Know that what you are doing is so critical to the other side of death that very little understand. That death is imminent, but can be seen as beautiful and vulnerable. 🥹❤
