Hi! Professor here! Google: Purdue OWL for a really comprehensive resource! Basic format: 1" margins all around, double spaced, size 12pt font Times New Roman. Word does not have this format at standard! Also in Word, make sure you uncheck the box that says to add a space between paragraphs.

Girl, same. I'm having trouble understanding how in-text citations work when I'm working on a summary for the entire week's reading. am I supposed to have a citation after every sentence since the info is from multiple sources?

What I did every time: Google image searched an APA cover page to make sure I didn't forget anything I was supposed to add. Page numbers in the top right corner. In text citations are (author last name, publication year). Use a citation builder like My Bib for your works cited page. I never had a professor who cared enough to dock points if I made any minor formatting errors, as long as the citations were there.

When I was in college I had an APA handbook. It's a pretty rigorous style with lots of rules. I would definitely ask ChatGPT to help you do it.

Are there resource sections of the online class that explains it? Every online class I had provided all of this information or a link to a resource on campus to help. Also, Google will pull up resources from universities that show you the format.

APA is far superior to MLA at least for me as a neurospicy college grad.

Find it on Google scholar and it creates the citation in the correct form you need.

I just keep the Purdue Owl site open. There used to be a built in reference tab in Word and maybe Google docs.

Ask your Prof or TA for help. If you use AI it’s just going to flag it as being wrote by AI

I'd be asking ChatGPT. I have no clue either! MLA sounds right though!

I’m also a returning student this year. APA is very similar to MLA. APA uses a title page and a running title header on the remaining pages. Also, the in-text citations are little longer. Someone previously said to check out Purdue OWL, and I second that. It tells you what to do for each section of your paper. Good luck! You’ve got this.
