Our friends had a BBQ invited their neighbours over. At 9:50pm one thanked them for having them over said they had a great time, at 10:01 that same neighboured called the police and made a noise complaint. Germany is a miserable place!

My theory is that people here are so undersocialized from avoiding friendliness with strangers that they have to do this to feel some sort of human connection

I side with the German neighbor and I don't care who thinks I'm stuck up. Your home is your calm space and they're disrupting his quiet and peace. There's a reason Germany is an advanced country, because people adhere strictly to rules and I love ut

The comments siding with the neighbour are bizzare, he subjects them to an ancient chinese torture for having a conversation at 10pm? That has gotta be the most selfish behaviour I’ve ever seen. Absolutely shameful country

This explains so much about the people that bought a summer house close to us here in Sweden; they are implementing strange rules haha. Luckily when they return they will find that someone "droped" boulders on their road..

Him Not Making a Complaint is the kindest thing, the law is clear and they are laughing and chatting outside. They should’ve just gone inside.
